Investment in the Furniture Industry in Brazil

The local government in Arapiraca which is the 2nd largest city in the North western state of Alagoas is going to Invest over $ 30 million US Dollars to create  an Industry park dedicated to the  manufacture of Wood products and Furniture. The Hub or cluster of companies will create a fully integrated supply chain for the Wood and Furniture Industry from supply of raw timber to sawmill , machining, manufacturing, finishing, packaging and Logistics.

The aim of this investment is to strengthen the existing Wood and Furniture industry in the region and attract a range of new companies large and small to his manufacturing hub. There will also be storage facilities and showrooms to exhibit different companies finished products. The new  Industrial Park has been made possible because of Local  municipality funding and Funding from government and leading international institution. It's expected  that initially 1500 of jobs will be created and many more after that it will a further boost to the local economy.

Instead of Brazil being one of the world's Biggest exporters of Timber by having a stronger manufacturing sector for wood related products and Furniture it means they can add value to the product and therefore increase their profits from their raw materials. As Brazil invests in this sector it will create more opportunities for companies who supply machinery and technology for the manufacture of Wood products and Furniture.
