Expansion of the pressed car parts production plant

2013-06-26 source http://www.stepcon.ru
STEP General Contractor has started work at expanding the Gestamp Severstal Vsevolozhsk factory for automobile parts manufacturing. The client’s production plant will be expanded by more than one third in the first quarter of 2012 – to 23,000 sq. m., which in turn will allow the company to increase its annual production volume by a third as well.

STEP General Contractor signed a contract with Gestamp Severstal Vsevolozhsk on expanding the automobile parts plant.

The idea for expanding the plant was first announced by Fransisco Lopes, Gestamp Automoción’s Vice-President. An expansion agreement between the government of the Leningrad Oblast and Gestamp Automoción was signed in the middle of June, 2011, during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The automobile parts plant with an area of 16,000 sq. m. is located in the Kirpichny Zavod Industrial Zone in the Vsevolozhsk District of the Leningrad Region. The plant’s current production capacity is no less than 2 mln pressed parts per year. The total expansion will cover an area of 6,750 sq. m. This will increase the plant’s production area by one third. STEP plans to complete construction work in the 1st quarter of 2012.
