China: Auto sales in China increased by 12.2% for the first 2 quarters of 2013.
2013-07-22 source ownIf VW’s two leading subsidies in China Shanghai Volkswagen and FAW- Volkswagen were combined then it would be the leading selling brand so far in 2013 with sales of over 1.5 million vehicles already. As a single standalone brand then General Motors is the top seller for 2013. Korea’s Hyundai is 3rd, Japanese Nissan 4th and French Auto manufacture Citroen in 5th place.
All of these International auto manufacturers have seen an increase in sales when compared to the same period in 2012 only Nissan has seen a decrease which is largely due to political tensions over border disputes between China and Japan, even with the downturn Nissan is still selling over 62, 000 vehicles a month. Overall sales of cars in China for the first 2 quarters of 2013 increased by 12.2% which is proof that China is still hungry for international Auto brands.
