Daikin launches new seasonally-efficient wall mounted unit

Brunn am Gebirge, April 2013_Daikin has extended its K-series range of wall-mounted units FTXS to provide optimal design and comfort for the entire home
Brunn am Gebirge, April 2013_Daikin has extended its K-series range of wall-mounted units FTXS to provide optimal design and comfort for the entire home. The new 35, 42 and 50 class units join smaller units launched in 2012, which means the range can now provide high levels of comfort and energy efficiency for the entire home – from the smallest bedroom to the largest living area.

Daikin’s wall-mounted range meets the most demanding requirements of the modern home, in both design and performance. The discreet and modern design of the units matches all interiors. Their smooth curves blend beautifully into the wall, resulting in an unobtrusive presence that integrates beautifully with contemporary bedrooms and living areas. The sleek and functional design is complemented with a high quality finish in matt crystal white.

The new units in the K-series, with cooling capacities of 3.5 to 5.3kW, are optimised for living areas. Their discharge air pattern uses the Coanda effect to direct airflow across the ceiling, thus reducing direct draughts and ensuring perfect comfort conditions in every part of the room. Additionally, the intelligent eye movement sensor can detect where people are in the room and direct the airflow away from them.

Daikin’s never-ending quest for greater efficiency means the wall mounted range delivers top performance and meets the latest European legislation on seasonal efficiencies, with ratings up to A++. The units’ inverter technology adjusts the power used to match the load requirement during heating and cooling, resulting in reduced annual energy consumption and operation costs, while providing maximum comfort.

Further energy savings are realised thanks to the weekly timer and the intelligent eye. The weekly timer allows end-users to programme the operation of the unit to best suit their habits, increasing comfort and saving energy, while the intelligent eye automatically switches to economy mode, if the room is empty for 20 minutes.

The smaller wall mounted units in the K-series are designed specifically for bedrooms and operate at sound levels of 19dB to ensure a good night’s sleep. However, even the largest unit in the range is quiet, with operating sound levels of just 23dBA.

The units are easy to operate via a wireless controller or remotely via the internet. Users can access the system via smartphone, laptop, PC or tablet to monitor and control the home environment remotely.

With its discreet and integrated design, whisper quiet operation, high seasonal energy efficiency and excellent comfort levels, the new wall mounted range is the perfect solution for heating and cooling the modern home.

Establishment of AC Equipment Production Factory in Rapidly Expanding Brazil as a Daikin First in Latin America

To contend with the demand in the rapidly expanding air conditioning market in Brazil, Daikin Industries, Ltd. has decided to establish a new factory (site area of approx. 200,000 m2) for air conditioning equipment in the city of Mogi das Cruzes, located on the outskirts of Sao Paulo in the Federative Republic of Brazil
To contend with the demand in the rapidly expanding air conditioning market in Brazil, Daikin Industries, Ltd. has decided to establish a new factory (site area of approx. 200,000 m2) for air conditioning equipment in the city of Mogi das Cruzes, located on the outskirts of Sao Paulo in the Federative Republic of Brazil, with production beginning at the start of 2014. At the new factory, Daikin will manufacture its multi-split type VRV commercial air conditioning systems to meet demand for air conditioning equipment at public and commercial facilities in Brazil.

Daikin first began selling commercial use air conditioners in the Brazilian market in 1992. Last year in May, Daikin established Daikin McQuay Ar Condicionado Brasil Ltda. (Head Office: San Paulo) as a subsidiary, and operations began in full-force from April 1st of this year. In addition to commercial use air conditioners, Daikin plans to sell a wide range of products in Brazil extending from residential air conditioners to large-sized air conditioners as it aims for sales of 35 billion yen in fiscal year 2015.

In the Brazilian air conditioning market, demand for air conditioning is expected to expand as capital investments accelerate accompanying infrastructure improvements for such large projects as the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil and the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics. Furthermore, as the affluent class increases in size, the market for residential use air conditioning is also expected to see rapid growth. The air conditioning market in Brazil experienced sales of approximately 180 billion yen (Daikin estimate) for fiscal 2010, but in fiscal 2015 the market is expected to widen to over 400 billion yen (Daikin estimate).

In Brazil where sustained economic growth is anticipated for the future, it will be essential to develop products that correspond to local needs and supply them in a timely fashion according to demand. After considering investigation results that included the worldwide production system of the Daikin Group and determining the necessity for development of a full-fledged air conditioning business in Brazil, Daikin decided to establish a production factory at this time for air conditioning equipment in Brazil.

Daikin intends to proceed forward with a comprehensive production system and construct a sales network in the cities of San Paulo and Rio de Janeiro that comprise 60% of all air conditioning demand in Brazil. Not only does Daikin intend to implement equipment sales, but it also plans to accelerate full-fledged business development in Brazil by employing its own unique style of meticulous after sales service that includes establishing service bases in the main cities, fostering highly-skilled service technicians at Daikin authorized service providers, and implementing a 24-hour, 365 day-a-year contact center similar to those established in such countries as Japan and China.
